If you are buying an instrument but are unsure about what you want, you may wish to contact a professional musician in your area. There are often minor differences even between instruments of the same make and model, and used instruments can vary widely in quality due to age and condition. If you need to find a professional musician in your area, consider contacting a nearby university or orchestra.
You may want to consider not only the instrument, but also the source. In some cases, ordering instruments directly from the manufacturer can take much longer than buying from a secondary source, and there can be a difference in the price. Many double reed supply shops carry new and used instruments.
